Festival origin
research of origins of festivalA festival is an event, usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centers on and celebrates some unique aspect of that community.
Among many religions, a feast is a set of celebrations in honour of God or gods. A feast and a festival are historically interchangeable. However, the term "feast" has also entered common secular parlance as a synonym for any large or elaborate meal. When used as in the meaning of a festival, most often refers to a religious festival rather than a film or art festival.
In the Christian liturgical calendar there are two principal feasts, properly known as the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas) and the Feast of the Resurrection, (Easter). In the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Anglican liturgical calendars there are a great number of lesser feasts throughout the year commemorating saints, sacred events, doctrines, etc.

Target audience?
we thought that everyone would be a good target audience, for example like tourists, families, adults then also young people like teenagers.
Our initial ideas were that it would be birhg and bold, that we would have a ticket discount page that you could cut out. Also we though of having a huge fold out map in the centre fold pages. Also monthly happenings

Samba in cambridge comparison between 2 videos
the performance in this video is really god the way that the leader keeps the band together is really good and the sound produced is really good as well i like the rhytm and how the each different instrument adds its own sound.
There isnt a lot of choreography within this video they are just doing there own thing to be honest even thought you can see they really are getting into it and moving there feet to the beat this also helps them keep in tune with everyone else.
Costumes, the cosumes in this video are all the same they have a t-shirt or hoodie with the same logo on it so they look like a band.
There is no specific lighting in this video as its outside.
The second video is called Thudbox - Bal a
The performance on this video is really god they work really well as a band and the sound is really unique, the way they perform on stage is really quite intriguing as there are few people on stage but still together they make sch a great sound with all te variety of instruments.
The choreography in this video is very freestyle as they all seem to be doing there own thing however there s some ssort of dace going on.
They are all in white not from head to toe they just have like white tops and black trousers or some sort of arrangment of black and white, which looks effectve as they all still look the same.
Lighting well there are definitely spotlight on them and it looks like there could be strobe lighting as well as there white tops look quite blue.
The band identity in both groups is the fact that they wear the same well not in thudbox but they have the same colours on and in arco iris samba they all are wearing the same t-shirt.
Both bands interact with each other by either looking at each other smiling or usually dancing together whilst playing either the same instrument or different.
In both thudbox and arco they claps there hands to encourage the audience as this then gets them to clap alng and really gets the energy going for the band.
Well thudbox were the only band who performed on stage, its more of a line they have everyone who lays the same instument next to each other, they also have two lnes its like one behind the other but the big drums are at the back and the smaller instruments at the front.
Th light effects really give it something as it makes the stage light up and shine on who it should, i wouldnt say there are many props in either band but if there were props it would really add to it i think.

homework for weekend of the 15th
i choose this video becasue i think it sounds really good and looks like the sort of samba band that has formed through the communtiy. The performance looks quite lively they all look like they are enjoying it and also all in time. They are all wearng the same tshirts so it looks like they are all together however they are all different colours which give it some colour to be honest. It has been filmed outside at a festival in lanarkshire. this is very much like my own experience of samba as its a small band and they all look as if they are doing it because they enjoy and i enjoy it and it just looks lke what we have been doing at the junction.
